“Berlin is all about volatility. Its identity is built not on stability, but on change” – Rory MacLean
Through its history, Berlin has been renowned for its quest for freedom, expression & reinvention. At MCM we are deeply inspired by the continual rebirth of Berlin as a city - now the engine for fashion, music, and visual culture. The MCM journey began in Munich, drawing from the energy of the city in 1976. MCM have since been at the centre of the Zeitgeist, embodying the freedom to be bold, irreverent and aspirational. Berlin today builds on the essence of Munich in the 70’s, whose ability to reinvent itself can be attributed to its diverse history. Today, MCM celebrates the vibrancy of Germany’s capital, where art, fashion & entertainment converge and the underground meets the mainstream.

KÖNIG SOUVENIR Installation
“We want to create ‘opinion wear’ – accessories, clothing and other daily objects that make a statement, that express views of the world as bold and cutting-edge as great works of art do." - David Mallon, Founder & Partner KÖNIG SOUVENIR
On night two, MCM transports guests to the centre of Berlin’s art community with an intimate dinner at König Galerie showcasing a collection of limited MCM editions curated by KÖNIG SOUVENIR, a label for unique objects of art in collaboration with the gallery and its artists. Guests include highly recognised artists as well as key players from Berlin’s cultural landscape. Set in the iconic Brutalist building in which König is housed, MCM offers an exclusive preview of the KÖNIG SOUVENIR x MCM collaboration with the revealing of a work-in-progress installation, launching at Art Basel Miami Beach in December 2017.
